Oooh I like that...
I actually can't see any big problem with anything you've suggested (though clearly more detail is needed)
I'll see if I can work it up into a more literary (or, less bullet-point-y) format, and come up with some ideas to fill in some of the blanks.

Re: site slowdown?
Not sure about the rest of the site, but I have noticed that the forum seems to load pages a lot slower than it ought to.
It might just be down to my crap wireless connection, but I'm usually on the BfW forum at the same time, and it waorks a hell of a lot quicker than WTactics.

Re: Some thoughts on the Shadowguild
I'm making this up as I go along, but I think it makes sense... Long ago, Imperial explorer-conquistodores brought back slaves from another continent. These slaves practised a form of ancestor-worship, with the twist that they were right - their dead ancestors really were hanging around, watching ov...

Re: Rapid vs. lazy prototyping
It seems like any costructive activity is better than none. So I think for this project to go anywhere, everybody who is serious about it needs to get of our collective arses and do something. Anything at all. Frankly, even if people are inventing new cards by the dozen and playtesting against thems...

Re: Some thoughts on the Shadowguild
Tht's pretty much what I was aiming at with my last suggestion. As you say, secret societies are great for storytelling, but don't translate well to any kind of game involving open conflict. I kind of forgot that initially, because I am a writer of fiction first and a gamer/game developer distant se...

Re: Some thoughts on the Shadowguild
It's not as easy as it looks, is it...? I'm struggling to find a way of sensibly incorporating undead/necromancy and suchlike, without making them blatantly evil. All I can see are two decent options, summed up as (A) ancestor worship, and (B) trying to achieve immortality. (A) seems out of place in...

Hi! I'm new here too, it's nice to know that I'm not the only non-project-creatorwho's interested in this! I had a glance at Orp and Galaktikos - Orp looks kind of similar to a system I came up with a while back (in as far as it has zero-average Body/Mind/Spirit stats), but WOW you made a lot more e...

Re: Some thoughts on the Shadowguild
Hmm, that could work...a society of all those rejected or abandoned by society In that case, I think we'd need to emphasise the magical aspect more than I have in any of my earlier attempts - otherwise it's hard to see how they can compete with (and hence, be playable against) any of the more 'norma...

Re: Hi, I'm The Other
Money would help , but I'm unemployed and not working on any paid-for projects at the moment, so I figured I'd rather work for free than sit on my arse and get bored!

Re: Some thoughts on the Shadowguild
I've been pondering this for much of today, and came up with a somewhat different and rather more detailed take on the SG (it's a bit long...) (Note that 'Domino' is just the first name that came to mind, and may well be changed if somebody has a better idea. Personally, I quite like it, though I'm ...
