ARC Playtest Round 2 : a summary
Hey Folks, Last Thursday we sat down for an other ARC playtest. We used the ARC as basis and started with the following setup: 20 Life Points, 10 Victory points to win. Keeping our first playtest round in mind, we changed some rules: The Draw (& resource phase) ========================= During the d...

Re: Hand card depletion, a good thing?
Hey snowdrop, It might be harder for the us devs to know when a card can be played. However it does allow for the player to vary in tempo and I'm all for that. This example in itself would have to be done at a very steep cost (no card draw for 2 turns, and then no cards left in hand, and no other ac...

Re: Help installing sandscape onto a linux centos VPS.
Hello OmgItsMax,
Unfortunately scandscape is no longer maintained.
Xarn was able to set up a working server a month or two ago.
But the current code base doesn't do much.
Currently we are sticking to printed cards and tabletop play.
Kind regards,
Nico

Re: Hand card depletion, a good thing?
Hey Snowdrop, Thanks for your input. On your suggestion I've tested the following draw rules. The player decides any of these combinations during draw: a) draw 0, put down 2 resource cards b) draw 1 card, put down 1 resource card c) draw 2 cards, no resource cards are allowed. It made the bootstrap ...

Hand card depletion, a good thing?
Hey folks, Both ARC and ORC have a 2 card draw, and during the playtesting we could really go deep into the deck each game. The card rotation was high, and you have always plenty of cards to play. The downside/upside of that is that there wasn't any card depletion at all, you roughly stayed at 5 to ...

Hey snowdrop
Thanks for the input.
Good point, maybe one VP when there is an unblocked creature. Not per creature.Doesn't that rule favor weenie decks and spamming creataures vs expensive huge creatures?
Thanks for the input.

'Uneasy Alliance' vs 'Gaian Love for Life' who should win?
Hey folks, I've been trying to balance out the two decks in prep of the new play test round this afternoon/evening. I had the slight feeling the Gaian deck was in disadvantage, with its small 1/1 creatures that can easily be killed off by the undead archer. Also the combination 'Abudction' + 'Shadow...

Re: Introduction Jade
Hi Jade, welcome aboard, Hadn't seen your post. Glad to see someone new. We'll I agree, MtG is a complex game, if you try to read 'All' the rules and try to start playing from that. However, as in most games you get introduced by someone who already played the game, you start out with the basics, an...

Re: ARC Playtest Round 1 : a summary
Hi Snowdrop, Thanks for your input. Ask yourself what the cities are supposed to add to the game conceptually. After that the question is only if their implementation and rules/mech around them lead to that particular goal. For instance, in ORC they I want the concept of a) spatiality (location of a...
