Re: what CS could learn from
Hello! I'm pennomi, and at the present, I'm the dev who most actively write the cardscape code. Thank you for your quick reply! If there is any way we can collaborate, that would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me at pennomi (a) wtactics (dot) org. I made CGF a few years ago, primarily as a ...

Re: Hinting text on online cards
Pennomi - autogeneration of the text is really not that simple. I think you basically wanted to put a random text inside a card (with maybe some steps missing here) and later substitute it for the other thing with a kind of parser/generator? Think of it - this is not fixed width text. It would be h...

Re: Hinting text on online cards
While I'm pretty sure that this isn't the path that we want to take, I know I can make an autogenerated SVG based on the stats in the database (I've done this before, but with C#, not PHP). Then, once the whole db is generated to SVGs, imagemagick can quickly convert them all to .png or .jpg. It wou...

Re: Hinting text on online cards
Seems like using GIMP is a lot more work for not much gain. I'd say stick with either scribus or inkscape. The only thing I use is inkscape, so I'm afraid I'll not be much help with the visual aspects of the cards.

Re: 'Lo there!
I'll, when I have time, try to search the site for first drafts of rules and such. It might be interesting to learn a bit more thoroughly what's going on in wtactics, enginewise. I'm sure to introduce this project to my friends next summer if the first playable drafts get finished. I think we find ...

Re: 'Lo there!
Hello and welcome! We're happy to have you around. There's plenty going on right now, and IMHO, you came in at just the right time, because we're ramping up the speed to get ready for internal playtesting. No worries, I don't think of myself as one of those elitist/puritanist whatev's, who just have...

Re: Inkscape Oversampling
Wow, how did you figure that out?!? I'm glad you did, the portraits being mysteriously pixellated was driving me nuts.
