What purpose do fronts serve?
I'm not sure I understand the significance of fronts in this game? A player may choose to attack or move during a turn. Given that he isn't able to attack after moving, the second player could simply move a creature to the other front and defend his kingdom. If he doesn't have enough creatures to oc...

Re: New Card type: Kingdom (and some rule changes)
FTR, the BfW argument was more so a convenience argument than anything else. EG, a player that has played BfW that moves to a TCG that so happens to share similar characteristics might find it easier to migrate to said TCG. In other words, I think it makes a compelling argument to keep or introduce ...

Re: New Card type: Kingdom (and some rule changes)
Rather than 'drop' components from the ORC, wouldn't it make more sense to draft a new ruleset and post it in the wiki? I always thought that ORC was simply a reference design and while it could evolve, shouldn't change too much. In the case that another ruleset became popular, it could then be adop...

Re: New template proposal
Few comments, though Im not an artist, so they might all be invalid. * With the old design, the disconnected border on either side of the background image worked well, and the foreground images assisted with the illusion. With this design, I find it distracting. Perhaps so because each side is of di...

Re: Manifesto proposal
I just got of work, so my reply might seem a bit blunt or curt. My apologies ahead of time. That said, some of the draft seems a bit redundant, and I'm not sure as to how 'professional' it reads (for lack of better word) That said, I'm sure much of the current design document could be used as a mani...

Re: scope ambiguity (local vs kingdom)
Totally forgot about this thread, sorry. I have yet to check the revision or doublecheck card scape (might do that this coming Sunday or there-abouts). I gave word examples, but I think my concern isn't so much with careful word selection for the sake of dictating scope, but that it should feel natu...

Re: Card layout/template problems
Would it be possible to link references to the old card design and some of the draft work since identifying this issue? May help in putting the issue into perspective, and maye even spark creativity.

Database Synchronization Between Clients
On the blog, snowdrop asked how OMG would handle syncing of databases. For example, what would happen if a player adds cards to a database and wants to connect to another who obviously doesn't have his changes. I see two use-cases: Developers: I plan to solve this problem much like any version contr...

scope ambiguity (local vs kingdom)
The rules explicitly state that scope of a card's effect is presumed to be local unless otherwise specified, but I think this is unintuitive when coupled with the example text "all gaia". The article later propses that scope changes when a card explicity includes the word "kingdom". What if instead,...

aspidites: Horse Before the Carriage
As usually, I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself before actually contributing. I'm aspidites, hailing from the Mid-western United States. Most of my involvment in the open source community seems to revolve around Python, and WTactics is no exception. I plan to participate in a few areas here...
