Re: Cards, files, Inkscape and Scribus
The shadow is not blurred in PDF. My own experience is that PDF most often looks crap, but that it's strength is when it's being printed. Many times I've seen it look all wrong in the document, but perfect when printed from the same document. Have you tried printing it? Does it still look wrong? I ...

Re: Cards, files, Inkscape and Scribus
Well, I think I'll make a stop here and ask what you all think about this. Here is a event card template, stuffed with some ad-hockery. Known severe problems for now are: The shadow is not blurred in PDF. Dunno if it is a known bug or not, I dropped a line to the Scribus team (this is my second bug ...

Re: Q_x & snowdrop Chat 24 Oct
Dunno what is the reason behind snowdrop posting it. But I appreciate the idea. In fact, I'm really OK with having full chat logged somewhere, as it is with PARPG - the other project I'm into. I'm a little bit trollin', but thats only to raise morale :D We were at freenode, #wtactics Changes in how ...

Re: Cards, files, Inkscape and Scribus
Update: The template is pretty much working in its hardest part. Despite what the Scribus team proposes to avoid their lack of coding hours (http://wiki.scribus.net/index.php/Advanced_Drop_Caps ), I was able to keep custom-sized Initial (which is not a drop-cap anymore) with all the text in single t...
Re: IRC? SEO?
SEO - I'm not really a master of this art, along with wordpress in-depth tweaks, sadly. Sure there are no searches made with combined wesnoth and cardgame phrases, but hopefully there will be some in the future :P With IRC use - I'm really "both thumbs up" for seeing people chiming in and just chatt...
IRC? SEO?
Offtopic first - could we somehow take care of SEO and google, to have searches like "wesnoth card game" spit out wtactics.org somewhere in first 10 results? The other thing here is we won't be high there with wtactics.org being just an iframe. While there are like four of us - could we chime into a...

Speeding up development?
Just a short idea. My idea is to produce like 40% of whole Rebels (and other factions too, why not) without the artwork. We can use this cards to make an advertisement or, as Snowdrop suggested, to raise funds for the game (we can place a dummy or a shadow there and add a text with information and p...

Re: Rebels event card template
Naah, players will upscale it anyway. We can be sure that even some cards scaled up to a4 will happen

Re: Rebels event card template
No problem with cards smaller or bigger in this case. Smaller - My set of Piatnik's traditional cards has something like 88-89x58-59mm, so also quite close. (Or maybe we should use the Google's catchphrase modified as "close enough") Bigger cards sometime happens - this is the case of part of Vampir...

Rebels event card template
Do we want to have card cost with glow effect?
It has an impact on how to prepare the template - mainly if this would be imported set of objects, or just a text like card title, with some fancy styling.
BTW - what factors made cards so small?
