Re: Almost-announcing - Arcmage: Seeds of Magic
Hey Shai, nice to meet you. I'm new-ish to the project, and my IRL friends and I have been working on refining the rules of Arcmage to make it more distinct from magic. I have to say that this is a very cool project! I've been trying to figure out a way to model ArcMage in code, but it looks like yo...

Templates and Art Locations?
Is there anywhere to get all of the current templates being used for cards as well as all the art? Github has quite a bit of the art, but lacks templates and is missing some of the art. The Google Drive folder seems to have two or three templates, but doesn't have any of the art by itself. I think r...

Re: arcmage logo....
I'm gonna voice my support for this as well. "Arcmage" in the font at the top of the page looks really neat.

Re: Card Linearity
Ah, I'd forgotten about that part of the General Design Document :D I think it could be useful to adopt the levels he uses when we classify cards we make. Right now it would only be useful for making sure we don't have too many linear/incompatible cards, but in the future it could be useful for sort...

Re: Card Rarity?
My thoughts are that whatever you add or change should be there only to either achieve the goal within the scope of the game design, or to solve a problem that hinders that goal. Just that principle alone would disqualify most of everyones ideas, but on a sound ground :P It seems to me that the pro...

Re: Removing VP from ARC and Improving Cities
So far we've done one playtest, with the cities each at 15 defense points. That's too much - I'm thinking about 10 average, with about 2 points variation in general. Some day I'm going to spend some time playing against myself and figure out the adjustments that need to be made.

Removing VP from ARC and Improving Cities
I've recently been doing some play-testing with ARC, and I have come to the opinion that it would work better without victory points. I think most of the people I've played with agree. Keep in mind that these are folks that I play Magic casually with. They like the game, but want to see it different...

Card Linearity
I was reading game design articles on the Internet and found this article. Essentially, it's talking about how cards can either be modular (meaning they will go in any deck) or linear (meaning you have to design a deck around that card). This topic is being discussed with a focus on set design in Ma...

Re: Card Rarity?
I like the idea of mythical cards. Of course, they might be a little too limiting, because you would need specific cards in order to summon them and the mythical cards themselves. The trivial and the common levels with 16 and 8 cards allowed respectively seems a little overkill. Powers of 2 are fun,...

Card Rarity?
I am not talking about how many are printed. Instead, I am proposing that card's have rarity that limit how many of them can be in a deck. For example, you might be able to stick four commons in, but a rare card could only be in there once. This would allow some cards to be slightly higher powered, ...
