Card prints

I've read that you have successfully printed some cards.

Sorry for the stupid question: How can I do this?

Or can you print some in your country and send them to me "oversea" and earn some bucks?
Kind regards and happy coding :)

Hi Peter,

You can download the zipped decks pdfs (is in the decks section).
They are cmyk with 2mm bleed, and the last page of the deck is the card's back.
I just went to my local print service and they printed and cut the cards.

You could do that, or you might want to wait anther two weeks or so, and I'll get a print for you.

The time table is:
1. Next week: proof print & cut of the gaian deck
2. Next week: info about the card's box
3. Double check & final editing (cards
4. In two weeks: order 10 boxes (one box will have the two decks, so 90 cards).

All people here on wtactics can get them for free (that's my christmas present to all that helped)
(Except for the shipping costs)

Btw, I think for the arc ruleset, I'll go with your suggested name: arcmage :-)

Kind regards,
Nico

Hey Peter,

I have one suggestion, if you want it to be really fancy and have lot's of time at hand. There is a method for MtG proxys, where you use acetone to get the ink off of a foil card. Then you print it the card you want on self-adhesive foil and apply that to the blank card. A bunch of crap common foils isn't even that expensive to order online (about 3-4 € for 50 cards).
It would certainly be a lot of work (also you would have to scale the cards down), but you would end up with a full foil deck.

Wow,

If one has that much time, he/she could also create a deck for the empire instead.
(As it is one of Peter's favorite factions ;-) )

Cheerz,

Ah, thanks for the info, Clemens, but I prefer getting the ready made version from Nico. Too much work!

Nico, thanks in advance for the cards.

With MtG I have a rough understanding, which I got by buying some cards and looking at them and by reading some short texts (in magazines) explaining the rough MtG mechanisms.

With WT I miss some stuff
- An easy to understand basic mechanism making understanding the rest of the game easier
- A good intro text for the rules. Short, simple, easy, not explaining everything
- information, which mechanisms are easy to understand and which are a bit more complex

I want to look at and touch the WT cards to get some understanding of the rules. After that maybe I can produce a Empire deck.
Kind regards and happy coding :)

Hi Peter,

Don't thank me just yet, once you are addicted to the CCG genre games ...

The thing with rules and games are, you can not learn them by looking.
Most of the time a new game is learned by introduction (someone sits down and plays a game with you)

I'm always up for a game :-)

The game mechanics are:
1. turn based, one player then the next.
2. draw cards from a pile of cards
3. put down cards (face down) as resources
4. play creature cards (paying with the resources you put down)
5. attack your opponent with the creatures you've put down and reduce his/her VP

What makes the game interesting,
1. Boost your creatures, or do other unexpected things with Event/Magic/Enchantment cards
2. Combine card-rules so they enforce/synergise and make the whole bunch stronger

That's the basics of it; now just 'how' you do it depends on the type of CCG.
So I'd be happy to run through a game. I might even make a powerpoint, with an entire game (scenario).

Edit: But I get your point, a rule set is not the same as a tutorial

Kind regards,
Nico

Thanks for the easy and simple overview.

How could I play against you?

Well, we have our online game demo. And can use Skype. That would work.

We just need to set a time.

Which Skype service would we use? Chat or phone? I hope, you mean chat.

The WT website is missing
a) a link to the online game
b) on the participate page: mentioning players
Kind regards and happy coding :)
