take core concepts of ORC and whole project.

Things like, for ORC:

  • Why turn-based system, and what turns do we have --- just an introduction to how the game can look
  • Why and what tokens do we use --- our confession/justification to tokens problems and how we have solved it
  • How playing a card looks --- word about our resource system
  • How a fight looks --- step by step fight resolving, short tutorial
  • What might be the goal of a game, and what not --- for future, I think
  • How to change game length --- alternative goals for same ORC base ruleset

For CS

Introducing alpha CS -- Introduction - purpose, address, ideas

Status: unreviewed

Hey all, it's cardscape time!

This is really fresh piece. Brand hot, new and alpha. With lots of missing features, but we are working on it. And it serves your purpose well already.

But, lets start from the beginning. It all, I think, started in snowdrop's head. Idea, enlightening whole this project, was to make new cards together - developers hand to hand with community. To enable you, dear reader, and other people like you, to influence the shape of the game. Seems like a weird tool had to be invented to accomplish this, if you remember the goal was also to keep the game quality really high, with asymmetric strategies for each faction. And since similar tool was nowhere to be found - Pennomi, Ravenchild, Slopes, DaBascht, ??? ??? and ??? liked the idea enough to make a tool to serve the purpose.

So, if you'd like to feel like you want to help with making the game too, look into wtactics.org/cardscape and register there. You can comment old cards (beware, the discussion is strictly on topic there, make off topic comment and it will be trashed), see the progress of new cards, propose derrivative card or totally new idea! The power is also in your hands, from now for eternity.

Ways it works, what it enables people to do

Status: incomplete, due to cardscape incompleteness

Definition - prolly something like Cardscape is a custom CMS made for the purpose of making customizable card games, tailored especially for WTactics, but after some changes applicable also to other card games. Purpose of this app is to empower the community of players to influence the shape of the game completely by proposing and discussing new cards and ideas.

sentence should go here

  • Propose new cards
  • Propose derivative cards
  • Propose changes to a card
  • Discuss ideas
  • Track changes of a card
  • View and search cards with custom queries
  • Check author(s) of a card
  • Check history of a card
  • Check how a card looks

Dev stuff:

  • Promote/demote cards
  • Upload/change card image

Ways to work with CS

Develop the game with us!

Yes, we give you the power to do it :)

We happily would like to invite you to help us inventing new cards and playing with ideas. If you have some thoughts to share, please go to cardscape (link), take a look at what is in production and, if nothing similar is currently brewing, post your idea. If what you post will be good enough, it will go into playtesting, get an illustration, to be, finally released officially. You have like 0,1% for this to happen, but honestly, this is better than we, burned out developers, have. And We all will give our best to pay attention to all your best ideas end as cards.

Also think of good name, create funny/adequate/inspiring flavor text, surprise us :)

You can also propose derivative cards to one we already are working upon, this is when you'd like to tweak more thing or rebuild the card for different purpose.

And, probably most important thing is to provide feedback on the cards we are currently working on. If you played with the card a little test, see the idea is exceptionally good, but you know how to make it even better, just let us know about this in cardscape!

To be fair, there are some prerequisites one should fulfill before going there. Knowing rules, knowing major game ideas and, as always, keeping good netiquette is a must.

CS - conclusions, presence and future

Things for whole project:

  • Recycling, why is it important for us?
  • What do we recycle, what we provide to be re-used
  • Why do we want to recycle, really? What are benefits and dangers of such approach.
  • Why do we make CCG
  • How we are supporting other rulesets
  • What different is between our game and ordinary CCG
  • What is different between us making CCG (first C = customizable) and company making CCG (first C = collectible)
  • Red banner story --- just a shortie
  • Gaian cards philosophy

Also:

  • Our needs, development --- call for help, also a little bit of showing our weakness
  • Our needs, community
  • Our new artwork --- monthly summary?
  • Comparative study of mechanics between us and MTG
  • Desired gameplay model --- or what are we making really
  • We want to be your side project --- call for contributors
